Wine cheat sheet: South Africa

My brain responds best to formal, structured education, which is why I went down the WSET route. But now that I’m done with Level 3 and not ready for the Diploma, I struggle with my further self-education — or rather motivation😝

I thought some structure will help me and came up with the following structure, taking South Africa🇿🇦 as my first subject:

🎓Some kind of a course for that “motivational” kick (in this case, there’s a free one on the Wines of South Africa website — frankly, it’s just a bunch of slides followed by a quiz, but still, it quickly showed me what gaps I have)

📖Read the definitive handbook (not the easiest read in this case but super useful and it will be a great reference book for future explorations)

🍷Quite a few bottles of wine, obviously — followed by in-depth reviews of producers’ websites

🗺️Study some maps in The World Atlas of Wine, obviously

🎧Listen to wine podcasts (check out my playlist for South Africa)

📢Post about it on my social channels, what else!
